I have the 1001E-03 ACPI BIOS. It is not newer than the 0112e-01 BIOS. They both have the same core date and are practically identical. The main difference is that the 1001E-03 BIOS has ACPI support, but no build-in SCSI support. I can patch either BIOS. Which one do you like? :) BiosMan. P.S. Do no...

apoorva, I have been looking into this and this BIOS is indeed limited to 32GB. To be able to use the 80GB drive, both the 32GB and the 64GB bug have to be fixed. The 32GB bug is easy, but the 64GB bug requires more work. I will continue on this BIOS after the weekend and report back if I have a sol...

Old Award BIOS and HDD support
I've found that all Award BIOSes dated July 1994 or later correctly support the LBA assisted translation up to the 8 GB limit. There is however a bug in the BIOSes dated before January 1996 that limits the harddisk size display, on the BIOS Setup and boot screens, to 2015 MB. Whenever a drive is 201...

Nick, The 32GB bugfix I do is the same 15 bytes patch from Petr Soucek, that is also used by Rainbow. You can find the details in one of the treads on this forum. On most BIOSes, this bugfix will allow IDE drives upto 64GB. When the drive is larger than 65535MB, another bug will hang the BIOS when i...

I never patched an IBM or Acer BIOS before so I wouldn't know how the CPU recognition is done in this BIOS. But you should be able to get the K6+ running by starting with a x3 multiplier setting. After bootup you can then increase the multiplier and enable Write-Allocation with a utility like CTU. Y...

AmenophisIII, I'm presently working on a fix that will also remove the 64GB limit in the SP97-V BIOS. I expect to have it ready for testing in a day or 2. This patch is based on the latest 0109v-5 BIOS and will have both K6-2+/-III+ and IDE harddisk support upto 128GB. Please sent me an e-mail and I...
