Hi >Maybe PhoenixBIOS can't support on boot 2 VGA devices? No BIOS can handle two PCI graphic cards! Older D8xx boards do disable internal VGA (Tseng) as soon as you plug in another graphics card. Do you have any other PCI graphics card to test (an older one, S3, ATI or Matrox based)? If this card d...

MS5169 = MSI MS5169
There are several sub-revisions of this board.
Check MSI for more information.

This latest release, being from March 97, does surely not support anything beyond 8GB. No go for Win9x and ME. As you are going to install Linux, the situation is different. The Bios opnly needs to provide support for booting and the boot partition "/boot". 100MB is more than enough here. The rest w...

You actually have a VRM-Socket + Module?
Otherwise, the CPU isn't supported by the board hardwarewise.

Hi So we have found two more siblings of the Syl8884/M921/ST1-A http://th2chips.freeservers.com/ -> Syl... My Bios chips are SST, but were also covered with black paint. Give some real cache, they are really good boards. IIRC The fake cache scandal did not only involve PCChips but also others like C...

You should not use a K6/2 on it, without doing a hardware mod

It's a difficult issue, because you can not retrieve all the information you need from the Bios alone. CPU Support: You can only display, what is built into the Bios and not, what the board actually can handle. Either the board supports less than built into the Bios (very common for PIII boards wher...

We might have a M505 there.
I'd like to have a picture of this board (for the lottery) as well as a Bios copy (or at least the Bios-ID string).
Is that possible?

It's an intel board OEM'd by gateway then.
Usually no support by intel.
Check gateway.

The ASD gets identfied as Winbond 29EE010/11 or 29C020 (1/2 MBit) and could be replaced with such a chip without any problems.

Don't know about the relationships of both companies...

Some users report healing the chip, by executing a hot flash.
I'd throw it away.
