Hi >BIOPS doesn't have a Boot-Block BIOS because it is only 1 MBit in size). 1MBit Bioses do have boot blocks as well. But if your chip is damaged or the flash process went wrong, it might have got erased/damaged as well. Check the board with the 5V chip, what voltage is there on Vpp (Pin#1 IIRC). E...

Hi

There is an old tool, called amisetup (IIRC latest Ver is 2.99).
Runs frm DOS only.
You may use this to check, if any of your two Bioses got hidden options, matching your needs.
But I guess, that's not what you want to do, because it's too easy

Hi IMHO inserting the code at the beginning of the BIOS routines is a bit risky. You never know, if there are parts of the Bios, which do not like being speeded up or cached (We've seen M$ and Borland getting probs with faster CPUs). I would put it at the very end, just before booting. This place co...

Hi Two possibilities: 1. Your flash rom has some sticky bits. The new bios required them to be altered, but they will not change. The old bios just matches the stuck ones. Solution: Buy a new flashchip (best: same model from the same manufacturer), have your new Bios flashed into it and swap chips. ...

Hi

Edwin: The flash chip is most probably a 1MBit 12V MX.

There is only one of the two latest Bios-Versions patched by Rainbow
(the one with NCR-SCSI).
The TrendAV Version is still missing.

He hasn't told us, what version he is using.

DFI CW35-L, Wrong Bios

Ok here is the situation: I got hold of a DFI CW35-L, i810 chipset, soldered FWH (Grrr). Someone (not me, I swear) flashed a Bios from a MSI, i810 based board in it. Both Bios versions are Award 6.00. The Board starts, but hangs right after CPU detection. Booting not possible. Does someone know, how...

Things to do

Hi

1. Can someone move wimsbios.com in the javascript to No.1 (or default to No.4 instead of No.1)
(Yes, I am shift clicking those links up right to open them in a new window)

2. The Ami-Bios numbers page should be available from the main page
