not sure about all Armada laptops, but most have the BIOS on the hard drive not the board...If this is the case then I am not sure there is much hope other then replacing parts.

F10 is the standard button to use when accessing the BIOS. f10 used to work on my machine with the default (win98) operating system. doesn't work for any more, since I deleted that small primary diagnostics partition or whatever that was. machine works fine, just the bios seems unacessable.. http:/...

Best option is to format the drive and do a "clean" install. Motherboard swaps are considered major changes and Windows XP does not like major changes.....

Question for the BIOS gurus

Is there a utility/program that could be used to view Compaq BIOSs/ROMpaqs? The "nuts and bolts" type viewing such as Modbin, and AMIBCP?

well if you dont feel worthy enough to fiddle with the BIOS chip you can try and see if a local computer shop will fix it, or buy a new board.
