Another silly question

How many times can you flash a flash-rom? Frequently updating DMI pool data and ESCD will reduce its life, won´t?

Try another keyboard, preferibly PS-2. If you are using a USB keyboard, plug the PS-2 keyboard, enter CMOS setup and enable USB Keyboard support.

If BIOS update doesn´t remove size limitation, you can install a PCI to IDE card and connect hard disks to this controller.

You should install chipset drivers in Windows. Windows cannot see AGP VGA if you don´t install chipset drivers with VIA chipset. Another suggestion: Update BIOS to latest version.

Install a compatible CPU, remove the manufacturer full-screen logo if needed and pause POST, the BIOS version should be shown. If, not try booting Windows and use software like CPU-Z or Everest in order to investigate your system configuration.

P.D: Rambus memory, very expensive, not?

KURIAKI, this version is for the EP-KX7A+, not for my mobo. Well, I think I must install Win 2000 and enjoy.

Other isuee. I run MICROSCOPE, then I execute the extended memory tests and this message appears.

CHECK FOR SEGMENT
OFFENDING SEGMENT

F1 TO DISABLE NMI, F2 TO REBOOT.

You should check the jumpers or CMOS setup in order to setup FSB for this CPU.

You should use Everest Home Edition. Maybe it detects model automatically.

What´s the optimal setting for this? The options are: Disabled, 2 banks and 4 banks.

Your motherboard states soporting 512 MB. Maybe, you must install two DIMMs (2x256 MB) because your mobo doesn´t suppot 512 MB in single DIMM.

ACPI and Win XP

I have a EPoX EP-KX7A which owns the latest BIOS version. The problem is the following: I try to install Win XP with ACPI support, well, when I select shutdown the systems hangs. It doesn´t happen when It runs Win 2000. Any suggestion? The OEM String is 8/15/2001 For KX-133 K7 Support.
