Re: 40GB HDD Support

ajzchips is telling you to click on the <Beta Patched BIOSes> link at the bottom of his reply. This will take you here:

http://wims.rainbow-software.org/ajz/

Scroll down the page until you find the Procomp zipped BIOS file for your board.

Re: Pentium I BIOS trouble...

Hi again,

Here is another link that explains the method:

http://www.rainbow-software.org/hardware/hotflash.html

If the chip you found has the exact same part number it will work. These chips can usually be cross-referenced to other manufacturers as well.

Re: Pentium I BIOS trouble...

This appears to be a Zida Tomato board, model 5SVA . The current BIOS chip seems to be an Intel product, but you can probably cross-reference to several other manufacturers (using the P28F001BXT120 part number). These are relatively inexpensive to purchase, less than $10 CDN. There is a BIOS update ...

Re: Flash rom is write protected

What you have supplied is the motherboard chipset, not the BIOS chip type. The BIOS chip will resemble one of those in the picture and it will most likely be black in color: http://www.badflash.com/images/chips.jpg There should be a number, something like 29EE010 or W29C020-70, etc., printed on the ...

Checked the BIOS update link - it appears you have the latest BIOS (VBD43). Was there any particular reason you wanted an update?

Re: bios update

BIOS updates here:

http://download.aopen.com.tw/Default.as ... WebSite=GL

but make sure which version you have - the BIOS is different depending whether you have a AP5VM-1 or AP5VM-2/AP5VM-3.

Avance on-board audio drivers (V 3.35) for the Windows operating systems, including XP, are available here:

:)

EDIT: It appears the SOYO web site is up and down, so keep trying either of the links I gave you for the audio drivers.
