You can download freeware disassemblers from the internet, as well as the other utilities you will need. Search the forum for other posts that address how to do this (High-tech section). As for assembly, you are on your own...don't know a thing about it. But from what I do know, you'll have to find ...

xiaonian -

If you want to do this yourself, you'll have to disassemble your BIOS, then, in Assembly Language, edit the file to suit your liking.

If you don't know Assembly, then you'll have to contact someone who does, and is willing to fix it for you...

Enough said...

*Mark All Forums Read* Repost

Since it seems to have disappeared, I'll repost to add the *Mark All Forums Read* button either higher on the main page, or add it to the *View Posts Since Last Visit* page. I know when I visit, I log in, then look at all the posts since my last visit. When I'm done, I mark all read, then logout. I ...

Remind - Any reason you chose a Conextant HCF modem (software driven) as opposed to a real, hardware-type modem? My girlfreind's kid has a Conextant HFS modem/sound card (Riptide), and it is the worst POS I have ever seen... It continually freezes his machine within minutes when online, and the only...

WOW...

And this is a 32 or a 64MB DIMM??

And a question...in that Intel document...do they mean the DIMM itself or the chips on them to the 4Mx8 limitation??

See this for what the VX chipset can support and why (from Intel) http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/430vx/KBATDN7V.HTM. Last time I looked you could still get the DIMMs from Kingston (ValueRAM); ask for P/N KVR100X64C216/32 (16 chip, i430VX Chipset). I have the .pdf datasheet, if you want it. AJ...

The VX chipset will support 128MB SIMM Maximum, so the most you can put in is 4 32MB SIMMS. The DIMMS it can support only came in up to 32MB size before newer technology came out (that I am aware of), so if you have 2 DIMM slots, the most you can put in is 64MB. You can get the special 16-chip DIMMS...

Nick...a question on MODBIN...

Do you release and extract, or extract and release? New to MODBIN, not really sure of the sequence to do things...

Right now just peeking inside...but who knows in the future...

6x done internally in the AMD, remember? (2x=6x) As for the rest, I assumed each jumper was interpreted individually when in fact they are interpreted as a whole. So the most I could ever get was 4x in my particular CPU, anything more just doesn't exist in its Multiplier "truth table". Excited about...

Got my answer to how the multiplier works...

On another note, Jan Steunebrink has added my board to the list of ones he will add K6-2 support for...any idea how this guy should perform with a K6-2+ mobile CPU @2.0V and either 66x6 for 400MHz or 75x6 for 450MHz as compared to where I am at now???

Just tried Patch #2 from Jan to try 4.5 and 5x modes... No joy here...it wouldn't take the jump to lightspeed.   It stayed the same at 266MHz, and ChkCPU showed the same data as before. I only tried 4.5x...never planned to go higher anyway, so I assume 5x is broke as well. Thing is, ...

Rainbow -- So this then puts the device on the system, but by disabling it, you tell the system not to use it...correct? No conflicts can arise by doing this; IE: Having two sound cards on the system, with their respective drivers, etc... and they won't *step* on each other...??? I assume too that t...

Here is some info on what else my system has for your comment on if I will be able to run this guy *safely* at 75MHz. I have a i430VX chipset (of course), Good 60nS EDO RAM (128MB), a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Video card, an Adaptec AIC-7850 SCSI Card (with a Yamaha CD Writer and ZIP-100 attached), US...

jesterabk - I've found a good place to get basic information about computers is at the PCGuide website. Just search there for UDMA33 . I'm sure all the info you may need is there. Also a good place to start is at your Hard Drive Manufacturer's website where you can find out the specifications for yo...
