Does your monitor support your current windows resolution and frequency refresh? Try to start windows in the temporary start mode (in Italian is "Modalità provvisoria" I don't now if the translation is correct), set a very low resolution, such as 800x600 and a low frequency refresh, like 60 Hz. Appl...

I don't know if there aren't anyone.
If the manufacter of your main board has a program as Live Update, you can install it under Windows (but the flashing process isn't on Windows).

If you use others programs that aren't built by the manufacters, you must use only Dos mode.

Look at the battery, may be deplated. If it's so, try to replace it.

I think you can't, because at the start up the pc doesn't load usb drivers. It load them in Win.

Try if you can change the internal CD with an internal FDD.

Remember that after clearing CMOS (and reopen the jumper) the default setting for HDD I think may be NONE, expecially if the pc is old: so you must set at least AUTO. If AUTO is impossible to set, you must specify HDD parameters, but on the HDD surface you can find typically only: Cylinders, Heads, ...

You can derivate a line from the two wires that go to the power on button. This new line, composed by 2 wires is linked in parallel mode on the original line. So you will replicate the power button on a new button. There isn't any BIOS settings that permit this, you must create the appropriate circu...

To retrieve data you can connect the hard disk to another pc, but only after set the HDD as Slave. When the pc starts, you could see a total of three HDD (your two partitions are viewed by the pc as two different HDD). I think you can only access to the Win XP partition, because the other partition ...

You can start the installation of Win XP from its bootable cd, then you can use the setup program of Win XP to view if there is or not the partition where you installed Win XP. It's not much, but you can know if the partition there still is or not. If there is, I think data are not all lost, but I d...

May be your BIOS has the setting AUTO for the HDD, so the HD is detected automatically (and set correctly) everytimes you power on the pc. If not so, you must specify manually all the HD parameters that you can read on the surface of the HD. Note that probably there is a function in BIOS called "HDD...

Yes, all BIOS settings will be back to the default.

Note that you must enter into BIOS after reopen the jumper and power on the system: you must set HDD settings, because the default settings could be NONE (after CMOS clearing). Otherwise no HDDs are configurated and the pc will not be ready to use.

Ok guys, I tryed a new keyboard and also the jumper setting on the board that set the ground signal of the keyboard on the cabinet ground or the PCB's ground.. nothing changes. I've an intuition: Could be the problem of the date? Is there a patch for this? When I clear the CMOS, the date is set to 1...

You can clear the BIOS CMOS settings closing the clear jumper on the motherboard. When you reopen the jumper, all BIOS settings will be back to the default. Then you can always enter into BIOS pressing Del or F2 (the key is indicated when you power on the pc during the post, typically on the bottom ...
