Are you sure that you need a BIOS update? I think you must set the HD drive on AUTO, save into CMOS, restart and see what happen: - if the BIOS remember the settings (check during the start up, after the POST), it isn't a BIOS problem: you possibly must re-format the HD loosing all data; - if the BI...

I downloaded Bios version W976 from the Denniss's link, I double click on it (w976.exe) and now I've two new files in the same directory: - Awdfl301.exe - W976.bin so I think I don't need the flasher from http://www.uniflash.org isn't it? The string that I will type at the MS-DOS prompt is only "Awd...

Generally cd-readers hasn't a life very long (I think it's a specific business policy of the industries). The problem is in the bobine that permits to "jump" to the lens and read the home made cds: it hasn't got the needed power to "jump" years after years. You can only read the production cd becaus...

Generally, with the pc turned off, you need only to close the clear CMOS jumper for few seconds (I suggest for few minutes). Then you MUST set the jumper on the previous state (before the close jumper operation). DO NOT power on the pc with the jumper still closed on the clear position.

If you can view the Bios, the video card works in ega/vga standard mode. This is not enought for saying that all is ok, because I had a video card that after the correct installation on Windows, with its drivers, it display a series of rows in the others configurations except in vga standard mode. I...

Also try, if you can, to change in "Devices" --> "IDE Drive Setup" the order of the IDE Drives. Try to select IDE Drive 1 for example and changing its position by pressing + or - on the keyboard or try also Page-Up, Page-Down keys or Up-Arrow, Down-Arrow keys. Sometimes the boot follows the order of...

Thanks a lot to Denniss and Ritchie, I try to download MS-5117A Bios! Can I make a copy of my actual Bios version before installing the new release? So in case of a wrong installation I can restore the original version. How can I do it? What software should I download? Can you link me the right file...

I have problems with BIOS, because more frequently when I power on the pc, it dosn't remember the settings AUTO for my hard disk (the primary on the first channel) and also the manual settings. When the BIOS remember the HD settings, tell me that recognize LBA, Mode4, 2113 MB, but I've 8455.2 MB (se...
