tried using drivers from your original post link.

lastst 4 in 1 installed fine.
Viasound would not install saying it could not find "any supported hardware"
I will try the link in you last post and see if this works.

thanks again, have followed your link for files. Link takes me to 1 file to update bios and 3 driver files: 1 - For VT82C686A/.... Audio Driver 2 - All on-board Creative CT5880 chipset mainboards (optional) 3 - All VIA based chipset mainboard. Just to clarify, should I update BIOS first, and then us...

Thanks for the replies. OK, so now I'm nervous, is it worth me attempting a bios update? Is an update likely to repair sound issues or would I be better of buying a new PCI sound card and disable the integrated one . I'm not so bothered about USB issues as i have added USB 2.0 ports on a PCI card. S...
