Creative-Shuttle
I had a Creative mobo and the only way to upgrade the bios was to order an upgrade chip from micro-firmware. It'll cost you 69 bucks, but it did make the mobo operate smoother and accept larger cpu's.

I use a Soyo 7VBA-133u mobo with Award 6.0 bios, a 1GHz Celeron, and 768 PC133 sdram. My boot problem is as follows: the initial post screen is shown with the Bios ID and the info at the bottom telling you to press del. to go to setup.
