Thanks to joe, ajzchips,NickS for your replies. The original (dead) cdrom rom drive was a TEAC 220E slimline. The new cdrom drive is a TEAC 224E slimline with no documentation. Thanks for the reply NickS. Do you mean in the bios or on the mobo? There are a couple of blocks of dip switches on the mobo, but without a manual i`m a bit wary of touching these. The replacement drive is identical to the original apart from being 24x instead of 20x. I read somewhere else that it m...

cdrom upgrade prob.
Hi All! I`ve just replaced a cdrom drive in my notebook, because the original one died, now when i boot up neither drive is recognised! However when i disconnect either drive, the other is detected. I think it`s a master/slave problem but i can`t see any way of changing it in the bios. Any help will...
