firmware for a laptop DVD burner(NEC DVD+RW ND-5100A)?

Just wondering if there are any firmware updates for a laptop dvd burner(NEC DVD+RW ND-5100A), or if something like that does not exist?

try 2 nec 5100a from dell with flash 5100rpc1 and crash them my dell don't startup with it now
