Hallo!

Can anybody tell me, where is the FLASH ROM on a ATI Radeon 8500?
I can't find it or is it embedded FLASH into GPU???
It's interest because a modification from BIOS file will fail.
Nividia based Cards do have a 29c512 Chip, whats easy to remove and reflash, but wats up with ATI Cards???

Thanks, Gerald

Newer ATI cards have BIOS in serial Flash ROM - a small 8-pin chip. No need to remove BIOS chip on any cards - just insert a PCI VGA card (set PCI to primary in BIOS) and reflash.
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org
