Hi i have an Msi Hermes 651 with motherboard version MS-6535 Rev.2
wich has a sis 651 chipset (Real 256 vga maybe?) and i have problem setting resolutions higher than 1024x768.
I 've installed univga 3 from sis site but sis says you must have vbios version higher than 2.28 to display resolutions higher than 1024x768.
On msi's site i can't find a bios or vbios for my vga.
Any help or tip would be appreciated.

Can you make a backup of your current bios with a bootable floppy and uniflash?
http://www.bootdisk.com (drdos flash disk, no drivers)
http://www.uniflash.org
This way we can check if version 3 is just a newer revision of your current bios.

My mistake the bios in the above link is the correct bios. The problem was that i was trying to flash from windows and not from dos. I updated to the new bios but it didn't update the vbios so i hope someone can patch it for me and send me the patched one.edwin wrote:Can you make a backup of your current bios with a bootable floppy and uniflash?

I don't mind losing the dvi to lcd connection.
Hi!
I found a tool (amibcp) to delete the old vbios and insert the newone but the vbios i used was for 650 board and i have 651.
Now the computer boots with a black screen and after a while the cd spins up and i also hear the floppy trying to read. When the floppy reads (it doesn't read continuesly) it also beeps.
Does this means that if i use a pci card will save the pc or i have to throw it away?

Now i have to find how to revive the mothboard.
I've left for over an hour with the floppy disk in the drive and i also tried using ctrl-home and now luck.
I hope that if i use a pci vga will fix my problem.
Any suggestion for my problem?
