Can't boot from sata DVD on DFI 661FX-MLV REV.C
SATA HDD can boot without issues
In BIOS I can find the only option for SATA- enable/disable.
During SATA drives detecting on boot detecting SATA HDD is quite fast, but for SATA DVD - several seconds.
From Windows SATA DVD working fine.

Is there any option to update BIOS and make proper SATA DVD detection during boot?

What brand/model is the DVD drive? Does it boot properly on other boards?

There's a possibility it has old firmware, can you check if you have the XP02 firmware with Discinfo?

(remove serial number from the report if you are going to post that!)

I can confirm that firmware version is XP02 as because I had flashed it myself

It is strange that in latest versions of motherboard BIOS missing option to switch to IDE mode of SATA controller.
Option should be still present in 661LDB10.BIN version (according to release note next version 661LDC08.BIN has REMOVE SATA MODE ITEM)
I am afraid to flash it because my CPU is Prescott 3.0GHz/ FSB800 and possible not supported by first release of BIOS

Is it possible to add SATA MODE ITEM (RAID/IDE) in latest BIOS 661LD803.BIN?

Attached both BIOS versions:

661LDB10.BIN - BIOS version supposed with SATA MODE ITEM available, but not support Prescott CPU
661LD803.BIN - latest BIOS support Prescott CPU,but SATA MODE ITEM removed and SATA controller works only in RAID mode

We'll see if the SATA controller has its own loadable module, if yes, this might be not too much work. If it is in the core however, it's almost impossible to fix...

Edwin, can you please take a look to that BIOS if possible to fix SATA boot? By the way, can't detect revision of my board: on pcb printed rev B, but on label rev C. I flashed all found in internet BIOS versions and board boot with all of them. Just on some versions it makes reboot after powered ON (two times beep). And I can see CPU run all the time 3GHz , it means possible board not fully support my cpu (Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3GHz/800MHz/1MB SL7E4).
