please help urgent

i upgraded my pc with new motherboard (elitegroups k7s6a + duron +new hd ) now everytime i start my pc i get the following error message
floppy disk(s) failed (40) and when i try to install my wnidows from cd it does not recognize the cd as asystem disk.

please help

Check if the FDD is connected properly (check both data and power cables). If you don't have floppy, set it to none in STANDARD CMOS SETUP. To boot from CD-ROM, you need to have CD-ROM drive before HDD in the boot order - e.g. 1st: CD-ROM, 2nd: HDD

already but i get the line boot from cd: (and after a few sec) boot disk failure please enter system disk and press enter.

since there is a new hard disk there is no data on it. could i boot from my old harddisk and install windows on my new on once booted?
