upgrading a motherboard

I am upgrading a motherboard on a Windows 8 computer. I think I need to change some drivers to generic ones first. Is there any good internet pages on this?
The computer wouldn't start until I sprayed the CPU socket and now the old display card won't work and the new one makes high cpu usage of system interrupts. It runs very slow but I got the driver updated but the problem remains. This won't matter much if the card works on the new board.
