DPMS OFF MODE

hi, getting DPMS mode off on a machine with Windows 98. Sometimes the message is check the signal. Tried a lot, didn't work.
Can you suggest something.

hmmm, system specs would be helpful. Is the computer crashing and rebooting during gameplay?

When I try to put off and then put on the main switch behind CPU, the screen shows desktop with shortcut icons on it and it looks if it is starting/ activating, but then suddenly the message comes on the screen, 'DPMS OFF MODE'.
Sometimes the message would be, 'CHECK THE SIGNAL'
Please guide!

So your not shutting the systen down properly? That in itself is enough to cause problems.

Hi, What can be done now? I am not able to shut down it as it doesn't start at all and just gives DPMS OFF MODE.
