No more LPT and Com port

after the u^grade of my bios (mobo : biostar M6TBC) with wim's bios upgrade I can't use my lpt and com port!!
did someone have seen that???
what sould I do to correct this?

Try clearing CMOS and check whether it's disabled in BIOS or not.

My 40Gb gisk is also not recognized on the secondary IDE bus

If you have flashed your board with the same BIOS image as CrYpToNyM you will have created some problems unless you have exactly the same main board as them.

Did you change any hardware such as mouse or serial port headers, or accidentally disconnect any cables from the mainboard when installing the hard drive. I was yesterday diagnosing why a mouse would not work and discovered that I was using both a faulty serial port header cable and a faulty mouse at the same time!

I would see if the 40GB drive recognises on the primary channel first. Note the current jumper setting and then try the jumper between Cable Select, Sole Only and Master and if you get it working then try the drive with that jumper setting on the secondary IDE bus.
