I have a GA-8ipe1000-g MB and I updated the bios to Ver 4.0 My problem is that after doing so my computer wont boot at all, can't even get to CMOS, just nothing. The cd rom drives lights flash, I can hear the HDs running. I tried clearing CMOS that didnt work. What is there I can do? Its it possible to delete the bios and recover the old one? The manual for my MB does not say anything about it.

If the system appears to attempt to read the floppy drive and you backed up your old BIOS, then basically yes, it should be possible to recover. How you can do this will depend on what type of BIOS is now installed. Look at posts regarding bootblock recovery.

If you have been unlucky you may have to go further to recover the BIOS.

Did you mean F4? Are you experiencing the specific problem version F5 fixes?

There are two versions of the board with very different BIOS:
GA-8IPE1000-G (Rev 3.x)
i865PE-6A79ZG0MC

GA-8IPE1000-G (Rev 4.x)
i865PE-6A79ZG0SC-00

Try Xpress Recovery software included in your CD.
