No POST Beeps and very old BIOS setup screen

I have the latest motherboard from Asus P5GD2 Deluxe, with Intel P915 chipset. My problem is when the computer starts, I don't hear any POST beep, secondly the main BIOS menu appears quite different than the one shown in the motherboard manual. I believe my BIOS is made by AMI or something. How could my latest mobo have a very old BIOS version ? what should I do to get the latest BIOS ? BIOS manufacturer wants around 70$ for the upgrade. Any help is very much appreciated.
