hello all,

I found on supprtbios.info the newest BIOS for my motherboard but I cannot download it.

here is the link

http://www.supportbios.info/modelo.asp? ... &Idioma=EN

please can you provide me any direct link to that BIOS file?

Thank you in advance.

the supportbios.info archives are currently offline. A865PE looks like a Chaintech number to me, this board is most likely a relabeled Chaintech. I'll try and contact the supportbios.info owner...

by the way, does this motherboard have a jumper setting to prevent further BIOS flash operations?

EDIT: i forgot to say: no it is not Chaintech. it is Brightking because the correct BIOS string is provided in the link that I gave above.

I checked the one for Chaintech and saw that it is a different board.

thanks

..which looks suspiciously like this All Round Electronics board...
http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j ... A865PE.jpg
for which the website appears to be www.allround.com.cn but beware; the English Language Downloads section has been hacked, so it's best to go in via Google translation.

The manufacturer of the board in your picture appears to be 冠誉 which Google translates as "Crown reputation" (possibly an alternative translation to "Bright King"); a Google search turns up Oren Electronics at www.allround.com.cn again. They show a similar board: http://www.allround.com.cn/admin/produc ... uctid=1858 and there is a BIOS 865G102.BIN inside 865G PE.RAR

Another similar board is the M-One 6IA865PE - the BIOS for that is 865G102.RAR I need to find an UNRAR that will unpack these (mine is too old) but I suspect they are all the same.

I seem to have misremembered the M-One BIOS. which is actually 6IA865PE.rar
However, the Oren BIOS is:
BIOS Info : 06/03/2004-Springdale-G-6A79A00AC-00
BIOS Message : INTEL A865G/GV/PE VER1.02(20040605)
so that appears to be the same as Brightking.
Hope that helps, no update appears to be available though.

Nick, where's that M-one bios located?

05/14/2004-Springdale-G-6A79AGMAC-00
INTEL 865PE/848P Mainboard(Ver:4.02)
from BIOS file 865PE black.bin inside the RAR.That particular one has a download page here, though you may like to Google for 6IA865PE and use the "translate this page" facility - there are plenty of BIOSes available from zol.com.cn. There the Chinese name is transliterated Qixiang.
Note: There are several versions of the M-One 6IA865PE board listed, so anyone else reading this should not blithely* assume that Version 3.0 is an updated BIOS for version 1.02.

In fact, it was quite daunting to be on one of the Chinese sites last night and see how many Chinese-only brands there are.

*(word of the day :) )

this information seems to be useful. the board is indeed similar as the "All round" but I am affraid that the colours for the RAM slots and board heatsink are not the same and this makes me confused about the circuitry of the board which may not be also the same.

but the information you gave is very useful.

but
However, the Oren BIOS is:

do you think one same BIOS can work for multiple boards?

and how can I check to see if this BIOS is compatible with my motherboard? and if the BIOS update ever fails, can I re-apply my previous BIOS?

Thanks for all.

EDIT: I looked into this picture http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j ... A865PE.jpg and I investigated my motherboard. it is 90% similar.

I will take a photo of my motherboard in my case and post it soon for you to see the differences.

Does your machine boot? If so, what are the BIOS ID and OEM message? If they are
BIOS Info : 06/03/2004-Springdale-G-6A79A00AC-00
BIOS Message : INTEL A865G/GV/PE VER1.02(20040605)
then it seems you already have the latest/only BIOS.
