Need drivers for SATA

Hi
I am attempting a clean install of Win XP - but set up does not recognise the hard drive.
I understand I need to install the correct drivers during setup of XP so that the HDD is recognised.
The only information about the motherboard I have is the following:
Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
03/04/2005-SiS-661-6A7I4ACC-10
If anyone can point me towards a download for this I will be very grateful!

Fantastic response. I assume the SIS SATA Driver is what I need so i am downloading that now.

This is much more complicated than I thought.
I have downloaded the ZIP file from the location given above.
How do I find out which files I need to put on to floppy to get the correct driver for the HDD?
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I am doing a clean install on to a HDD which has no OS?

I have downloaded the latest BIOS update from here (
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherbo ... DINFO=BIOS - that'll be the SG8018 ZIP file) so I am going to try and run the runme BAT file from floppy tomorrow and hope it works. Unless anyone tells me otherwise!

Any further advice from anyone before I crack on with this today? I have already spent hours with this and want to try and avoid spending too much more time...

unpack the driver. copy the contents of the directory RAID411a\FloppyImage\964_180 to a floppy disk. the contents are: SISRAID, TXTSETUP.OEM and the dir RAID. that's all.

After following the instructions above the HDD is still not seen during Windows installation.
The HDD is a Maxtor 6L160P0 with SATA/133 interface.
I have updated the BIOS to see if that made any difference, but it didn't.
Is there anything else I can do to get XP installed?

are you SURE that the drive is a SATA drive?
Maybe a PATA drive?

Just removed the HDD and it shows:
"DiamondMax 10
Model: 6L160P0
160GB PATA133 HDD"

PATA133 looks like a standard IDE harddrive, it should have a standard power connectior and a wide IDE cable with 40 pins at the connector. SATA has a much smaller cable.

It looks like you have to take a closer look at the jumpers. It's best to use Cable select for them and use an 80-wire cable with the blue end connected to the motherboard and the black end to your Maxtor drive.

I have just moved the jumper from cable select to just master and tried it that way and vice versa - no difference

Yes it looks like a PATA.
The drive is shown as primary in initial boot screen.
