my maxtor hd is not on the boot list in my bios
also when i boot up 'atapi has120' flashes on the screen
my hard disc was infected and im trying to reinstall windows xp

did you check the cable? is the drive spinning up? is it jumperd as master? is the ide port enabled in bios? is the drive set to auto detect in the bios?

which mainboard are you using? which bios version is installed? which maxtor drive did you try to connect?
