80GB: 2A69KD4FC-00

I just bought a Maxtor 80 GB HDD without thinking that my motherboard Bios would support it or not. I have checked the DFI website and downloaded the most recent Bios update I could find, but it still won't detect my hard drive. Does anybody know of a Bios update that I could use without ruining my motherboard. I have spent hours on this problem and would really appreciate the help. Thanks
