On the other hand, it doesn't work great. It does recognize my disk know, but I cannot do much with it. I tried fdisk, but it doesn't pass the integrity check. I tried it with win2000 bootable cd and I can make the partitions, but I cannot format them, I get a BSOD.

If I put the HD in a other computer it workes fine, if I put an smaller (6 gig) HD in the computer it workes fine. I installed win98 on the new disk on a other computer, and when I put it in the computer it hangs halfway through the boot.

Does anybody have any idea?

P.S. it is a chaintech slot 1 6ssa2

UDMA66/100/133 HDD ? Tried setting the HDD UDMA mode to UDMA33 with the manufacturer's utility ?

Hoi Edwin,

The tip about clearing the cmos was the golden tip. After the flashing I loaded the setup defaults, but that apparantly wasn't enough. After I cleared the cmos everything worked well.

Thanx a bunch!!!

Groeten, Roberti
