Ahe thanks, It worked !!!. One problem i am facing is my hard drive was
previously formatted on a different machine which detected my hdd. But now I can't see the data I had copied on to it.
Do I have to format the hdd again ? I havn't changed the ATA mode settings since i am not sure of what speed my mother board supports.
Please do advise.

It is quite possible that a HDD formatted on one PC may not be readable on another PC, depending on what sector translation schemes are used on the two PCs. In this case I am afraid it is likely that you will have to re-partition and reformat the drive.

Or... you may have to check what CHT parameters were auto-assigned by the previous machine, and manually apply them to the other one.
