Dear Friends ,

I have 2 harddisk one is 3.2gb n other one is 40gb . I try to install 40gb but my bios does not accept 40gb . I have download software from seagate as i have seagate harddisk i installed the software on my 1st harddisk my bios detect the harddisk . Problem is if i try to install any other os such as win 2000 / xp my second hdd goes off and what ever datas are there eliminates . Is there any solution to upgrade my AMI bios without using seagate software .

...so go to [url]http:/go.to/ajz[/url] or http://www.pcchips.com.tw/BIOS.html for the latest BIOS. You need to know whether your chip is 1 Mbit (128Kbyte) or 2 Mbit (256Kbyte) befoire you download and flash, but saving your current BIOS should tell you that.

Hi !

My Bios chip is 2Mbit , I dowload the flash file and try to upgrade it says your bios dos not supprot flash. How can i upgrade my bios ?

Check for write protect jumper and/or option in BIOS SETUP. If nothing, try another flash utility.

There is no write protect jumper not even in bios setup option , where can i download flash utility software ?

Ya i got it , how to back up my bios , If i run uniflash bios will be empty . after uniflash which program i have to run .

No...Uniflash is used to write the new BIOS over the old one or to save the old one. Please read the instructions.

If anything goes wrong and system does not boot how can i restore old bios .

The you're into "My Motherboard is Dead" and you need to hot-swap flash or get someone else to program your BIOS ROM.
