 Hi,
I have an old 468 DX2 laptop 66 Mhz with a 209,7 MG HDD. Unfortunate the BIOS dose not recognise the HDD anymore. It reports a fixed disk failure ( Invalid configuration information - Please run SETUP program ).
I tryed an upgrade to Version 1.03 ( recomended by a friend) but that dose not help at all. The label on the BIOS says Version 1.02 and the CHIP

Did I did the right thing ? and how can I get it back working.

The HDD is working fine in my other Laptop so it can not be the drive
it is a SÈGATE ST 9235AG.

cheers

Perhaps a dead battery lost the HDD setup information. For those older drives, you needed to specify it manually. Do you have the setup program?

I have the settings for the HDD but also the manual entry in the SETUP does not help the BIOS will not recognise the HDD.
985 CYL, 13 Heads, 32 Sect = 209,7 MB. I need to restore the old BIOS.

but thanks for the help

27C010 should be EPROM, not software upgradeable!

I have two these drives (Seagate ST9235A) - they're both weird. When I connect any of them to secondary IDE channel on my MSI MS-5120 board, it does not work. When I set the primary master to none, the drive gets detected and works. I recommend to get another HDD. Or did it work before?

it worked before
