Strange... our utility says:
"BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB & 64GB - Nothing to do!"

Jan, have you actually tried the HDD on it already or are you just wanting to be prepared for it?

I recived a MAil from a person who has Problems with this Bios and a this 120GB HDD.

So I send this to you (with your tool) and did the patch not by hand.

I will write him a mail and ask where is the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help at this point!

Jan, on very early AWARD BIOSes, when >32GB support was starting to show up, we have noticed that our utility falsely displays support for HDDs over 64GB. It must have something to do with the >32GB support code differing slightly from the standard one.

What we once had to do over here was find the immediate predecessor to the latest version and patch that particular version with our utility. This time, the large HDD was recognized perfectly.

I don't know whether Rainbow can add a "-force" switch (just like in his Uniflash) to the utility, so situations like these can be "fixed", without resorting to an older release.

There's nothing to force - the code that AWD64GB patches is OK.

But Rainbow, you agree that the program sometimes reports >64GB support when there really isn't. It's rare, but I suppose you do remember it happened 2 or 3 times already. Although, we do agree it's not the utility's fault.

I remember that - the problem is somewhere else in the BIOS code, it identifies the drive as 32GB only...
