Hello,

I have this:

Program: Unicore BIOS Wizard Version 1.9
Program: Unicore Chip Detect v0.72 2000.03.10
BIOS Date: 07/21/98
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 07/21/1998-i440BX-W977TF-2A69KW09C-02
BIOS Eval: W6BXA INTEL 440BX
Chipset: Intel 440BX/ZX rev 2
Superio: Winbond 977TF rev 0 found at port 3F0h

Where is an update for the BIOS that allows > 32 GB hard drives?
The one on driverguide.com is a
corrupted .zip file?

Thanks,
Jordan Krim

Check http://http://wims.rainbow-software.org for the patched Wintac/EDOM W6BXA BIOS.

Can't download file

For some reason I can't download
the correct file. It gets to
about 65K or 115K and stops producing a corrupted .zip file.
Can someone either send the file
to my e-mail (jkrim@mho.com) or tell me what I am doing wrong to
download it.

TIA,
Jordan

Try again or use download manager that can resume broken downloads (such as GetRight).

may have been superseded.

After 10 or so tries, I got the BIOS update downloaded. I then
got brave and flashed the BIOS.
All went well. I compared my old
BIOS (CMOS screens) with the new
one and a few things disappeared,
but I think it's OK. Then, I went
and bought a new 80 GB hard drive.
I haven't even installed it yet and I realize I have BIG problems.
The old 6 GB disk had the following partitions:
C: FAT16 1 GB Win95
D: FAT16 1 GB OS/2
E: FAT16 1 GB Data
F: FAT16 1 GB Data
G: FAT16 1 GB Data
H: FAT16 1 GB Data
Now I want to format the new disk
as follows:
C: ??? 16 GB Win95
D: FAT16 2 GB OS/2
E: FAT16 2 GB Data
F: ??? 20 GB Data
G: ??? 20 GB Data
H: ??? 20 GB Data
The problem is that all the ???
can not be FAT16 (since max is 2 GB), so I could use FAT32. Another problem is that the hard
drive manufacturer (WDC) says that
Win 95 can't access hard disks >
32 GB period. Does that mean a 32 GB partition or 32 GB hard disk?
Did I overbuy on the hard drive? Should I upgrade to Win 98, XP etc. and will this solve my problems? Any other suggestions?

 The flash utility would have stopped him squeezing 256KB into a 128KB ROM, but still "my bad" as they say.

@jordank: Microsoft's note on W95 HDD size -
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... N];Q246818)
says 32GB drive limit;
