Hi,

my new HDD Seagate (ST340016A) with 40GB has not been detected by my BIOS. The Board is an IN440EX-D from BCM (GVC) built in a Toshiba Desktop Equium 3000M.

BIOS-Details:
BIOS Type: Award Modular Bios v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 10/30/1998-i440EX-W83977-2A69JG5HC
BIOS Eval: Pentium II AGP/PCI/ISA SYSTEM BIOS VER:1.01 (#20659)
Chipset: Intel 440EX/LX rev 3
Superio: Winbond 977TF rev 0 found at port 3F0h

Is there a chance to get an BIOS-Upgrade? Toshiba and BCM don't provide any newer than I have.

Thanks for help from Bonn/Germany
and best wishes for 2003

Roland

BCM appear to have a later BIOS - 1.02. at http://www.bcmcom.com/tech/IN440EX-D/bi ... -d-102.zip. I'll take a look at that now.....

Roland, if you want this BIOS, give us a working email address.

Notice 2A69JG5EC vs. 2A69JG5HC. OEM versions of BCM boards have changed BIOS ID.

Hi,

thanks for info. My eMail-Address was posted correct. It could not be the problem. Please try it again.

Thanks in advance

OK, pick it up from the link in my signature. Please advise success/failure. Also, as the ID has changed, as Rainbow said, you will probably get a warning message from the Award BIOS flasher that the BIOS is not for your board. If you cannot force the flash you may need to use another utility such as Uniflash

@moderators: Can someone email rolandit and ask whether it worked ? His email address never worked for me and still does not. Maybe his ISP rejects mail from lycos (mailcity.com).
