Hi, my motherboard is an AOpen AX6BC-EZ, bios version
R1.00 Jun.11.1999 AOpen Inc.
which seems to be an Award Modular BIOS v4.60PGMA

I would like to use a 60GB Western Digital hard drive.
It is not recognized.

The problem is that the latest bios on AOpen website for this particular mobo is version 1.08 (6BCEZ108.ZIP), which doesn't seem to do anything for the 32GB limit (according to other sources on the internet, including AOpen forums).

Which BIOS should I use? Could I use an AX6BC bios (an older mobo, but with more recent patches available which fix the 32GB problem)?

[I'm a newbie and I'm afraid to flash my BIOS. Would I lose all my IRQ settings under Win98? It was quite difficuly to get that machine working, since I've got two video capture cards on that machine, two PCI network cards, plus ISA sound & ISA modem, and several of these cards work better with dedicated IRQ).

The latest BIOS is:
08/01/2002-i440BX/ZX-00000006C-00
AX6BC-EZ R1.08a Aug.01.2002 AOpen Inc.
ftp://ftp.aopen.com.tw/pub/bios/ax6bcez/6bcez108a.zip
Supports HDDs up to 128GB.

Thanks a lot - now, will I lose all my IRQ settings

Thanks a lot for your help.
Oddly enough, that version is not listed on
http://www.aopen.com/tech/download/mbbios/ax6bcez.htm

Now, I'll flash it as soon as I can restart my machine.
Can you tell me if I'll lose all my IRQ settings (I'm a real BIOS newbie, sorry)?

If you changed the settings in Windows Device Manager, I think that they should remain unchanged.
