Impossible. Must be at least 8.4GB. Make sure that you have set the translation type to LBA in Standard CMOS setup.

Latest IT5V/AR5 Bios version (CP) patched and sent. Rainbow's patcher says 2R did not support 32GB.

Thanks to you both.

Fabulous. My friend's computer is now up and running like a Rolls Royce.
It now recognises the larger hard drive.
Thanks to you both for taking the time to reply to my posting.
That said I owe you both a big, big apology. I am on a very steep learning curve at the moment. I have spent days trying to get the computer to recognise a hard drive of 8.5 GB. [Previously my friend had a 1.5GB]. It would only recognise 504 MB.
Rainbow, you were right. I did not fully realise what LBA was in the BIOS. I knew it was there, Normal,Large and LBA. I had it set at Normal.
Nick, what do I say. Please accept my sincere apologies for wasting your time. I have learned a lot from this experience.
I am indebted to you both.
Bryan.

No problem - but you didn't use the patched BIOS ?
