Ok in auto detect from post mode my 30gig WD hdd works fine...until i need to repartition with fdisk.
Now my 2nd puter has died this is all i can afford to run for 8 months so I ask for a fix.
I do have the bios on file upon email or forum request for patching.
FIC doesnt have a fix and lol i think they never wanted too.
damn obselete slot 1 works so fine it would be a shame to part it.
Please try to fix this as I need several partitions for better drive management as slow processors need small partitions

they didnt fix this bug.
there is 2 updates on their site so i did it by the book for each one it didnt fix the problem.

If that 626b13 BIOS (release date 1001, (c) AMI 1996) does not support big HDDs, you will need to use either an add-in controller with its own BIOS such as one fo the Promise controllers, or do what it probably does right now; use the manufacturer-provided disk management utility which will use what is called a "Dynamic Disk Overlay" or DDO.

The DDO replaces the part of the BIOS which handles hard disks, but as it is loaded from the hard disk at boot-up the disk will not make sense if you boot from diskette, e.g to repartition the drive. That probably explains your problem with FDISK.

Your best bet is to go to the WD support downloads site and download the EZ-Install disk maker for EZ-Install disk manager and read the associated docuentation.

I think it should be a well-known fact we can only patch award bioses, not ami-bioses. It seems ami is better at hiding the code in there...
