SD-P5VD = SP-586VD. What's your BIOS ID string?
There's a BETA BIOS:
09/30/97-i430VX-2A59GSMEC-00
(2a59gsme) EVALUATION ROM - NOT FOR SALE

Maybe it matches your ID string. If it works with HDDs over 8.4GB, it should be patchable to support up to 128GB.

From Rainbow's BIOS example:
BIOS ID string: 09/30/97-i430VX-2A59GSMEC-00
BIOS message: (2a59gsme) EVALUATION ROM - NOT FOR SALE
