Hi there,

I have a 41,1 GB IBM Deskstar 40GV (Model: DTLA - 305040).

My bios specs are:
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 01/28/1999-ALADDIN5-2A5KKG09C-00

I have a Gigabyte Motherboard (GA-5AX Rev.4) which had the BIOS Version 1.4b. I updated this version to BIOS Version F1 but the bios still identifies the capacity of the hard disk as 32 GB instead of the full hard disk capacity.

Then i wrote a mail to support of gigabyte and they told me to update to BIOS version F4. i did so but the capacity already is 32 GB.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you

That BIOS supports big drives - see http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... ight=ga5ax
Are you sure that you managed to flash the F4 BIOS OK ?
If so, did you remove the Cylinder Limit (32GB clip) jumper from the drive ?

I had the GA-5AX, too, with the F4 BIOS and it's currently running a 120GB HDD perfectly.
