BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 04/01/1999-BX-W977EF-MS7192S
BIOS Eval: BIOS release Ver 1.02 04/01/1999

It is the Matsonic MS7192S. Web site at www.matsonic.com

I tried to install the Western Digital 100gb. The system didn't detect the HD at all and it just stall. Nothing else show up after "Detecting Primary Slave" I have a master drive and would like to install this drive as a slave. Jumper settings are correct.

I downloaded a updated bios from matsonic website. But when I try to install it, it said the file's part number is invalid for my hardware. I'm clueless now. Please help. Thanks.

Also, I tried the patch

Matsonic MS7192S
06/02/1999-BX-W977EF-MS7192S-00
MS7192S
07/22/1999
128 GB

by Rainbow at http://wims.rainbow-software.org

still show an incorrect file's part number.

Download UniFlash from my page and run it to check your Flash ROM type. Maybe you have a 128KB one. If you have 256KB, the BIOS should be OK and you can flash it using UniFlash (including bootblock).

I used uniflash, but the option for flashing the bios is disabled. It can't detect my flash type. It said N/A(is it write protected?) How do I know if it is write protected or it is not able to be flashed at all? According to the spec on this board, I have a 2mb flash pnp bios.

when I used award flash, this message always come up.

"The program file's part number does not match with your system"

I read the FAQ and try "Awdflash 2Axxxxxx.BIN /Py" but the same message come up. I also did /QI. That didn't work either.

Peel off the Award sticker from the BIOS chip and see what's printed on it.

It's a Winbond W29C020 compatible chip - 256KB, so it should be OK. Have you tried awdflash 7.xx?

No, I haven't try v 7.xx

what I have is Awardflash v8.22A

Everything looks ok. Downloaded the bios update from matsonic website itself. but couldn't get it to flash. Is it write protected? How can I find out? How can I disable it?

Newer Awdflash versions often do not work on older boards (why? because it's crap  ). Use v7.xx.
