I have a quite old computer with an A-trend ATC-1020 mainboard and I'd like to install new IBM HDD with 40gb capacity. Unfortunately it sees it as 8gb all the the time I checked all the net but I couldn't find anything that could help me. I found a patch for atc 1000+ which has this same number on bottom boot screen, but i don't know if it will works...

PLIZZZ help

The latest ATC-1020 BIOS does not support HDDs over 8.4GB:
04/28/97-i430VX-2A59GA29C-00
ATC-1020 BIOS VER1.3 003

The ATC-1020+ does:
09/24/97-i430VX-2A59GA29C-00
ATC-1020+ BIOS VER:1.3 06

I found in this adress:
ftp://ftp.univ-lille1.fr/pub/vendor/atrend/

such a file:
1020p13.bin which suppose to be atc-1020+ BIOS VER:1.3 06

i tried to flash my BIOS using uniflash and this upgrade, but when i do it I see on screen this text:
"Warning: Bootblock Mismatch..... " - should I proceed or not?

If your board is 1020 (not 1020+), flashing 1020+ BIOS might kill it.

No way to patch - get a PCI IDE-UDMA Controller - has it's own Bios and is faster than your OnBoard IDE-cotroller
