BIOS Updates forum

Hello,

I really hope someone can help me. I bought a new HD:
Seagate 40 GB, model ST340823A

But my computer won't recognize it. I looked all over the internet for a bios update, but i can't find it.

Here are my specs:

BIOS type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS date: 08/24/98
BIOS ID: 08/24/1998-i440LX/EX-ALI-2A69JJ1BC-00
OEM sign-on: V.7XB B01 08-24-1998
Super I/O: ALi M5133 rev 0 found at port 3F0h
Chipset: Intel 440EX/LX rev 3

What can i do to fix this problem? Please help me.
