Hello,

I bought a new hard drive (40GB), but the operating system recognizes only 32GB. Upgrading the BIOS seemed to be the solution to this problem.

So I looked at my motherboard (Soltek), saw a yellow sticker with the type (SL-67EV1), went to their site, downloaded the latest .bin file (67EV-V1.BIN), the Award Flash Utility and their instruction manual.

Made a bootable diskette. Restarted the PC in MS-DOS mode.

When I typed Awdflash 67ev-v7.bin /sn/py/cc (like I read in their manual), I got the message The program file's part number does not match with your system.

I read the FAQ about this, but I still don't understand what I did wrong.

Please help me. Thanks!

The latest BIOS has the following ID and message:
07/03/2000-693-596-W977-2A6LGSNJC-00
REV V7
Because the ID contains 2A6LGSNJC and your current BIOS contains 2A6LGSNDC the BIOS flasher complains. Continue anyway.

Thanks for your help, but how can I continue after receiving that error message? The next step in the manual just says: "Please press F1 or F10 to exit or to reset your system".

Use a different Award Flashprog or use Uniflash
