BIOS does not recognize a Western Digital WD400JB, 40GB Hard drive
Motherboard info: Boardrunner 6VA693-C6
BIOS info: Award Software, Inc. (2A6LGL1F) Version 4.51PG
I understand that Boardrunner is out of business, so this may be a lost cause, but any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
jlovens

Take a close look at this archived page. Which mobo version is yours? 1.0/2.0 or 3.0?
http://web.archive.org/web/200004241649 ... /bios.html
The above link specifies that update D8 is ONLY for v3.0 boards, but the next archived link (more recent, and more recent BIOS), doesn't specify the board revision number for BIOS update SE5, which would make it easier to find.
http://web.archive.org/web/200010010921 ... /bios.html
Note: according to
http://www.filesearch.ru/drivers/main/lucky.html the SEx releases belong to the mobo with onboard sound.
Note2: the official Luckystar site (archived) has downloadable BIOS files. Take a look at the chart here:
http://web.archive.org/web/200110040419 ... os/via.htm
(now possibly the SEx BIOS shouldn't be used..., only the Ex...)

The motherboard has "6VA693A Version 1.0" stamped on it between the AGP and PCI slot.
What do you recommend?
Thank you,

The LATEST files I found are:
NO SOUND:
BIOS Version : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PGN
BIOS Info : 01/18/2001-693A-686-6A6LGL1FC-00
BIOS Message : 6VA693A-F3
WITH SOUND:
BIOS Version : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS Info : 12/13/2000-693A-686-6A6LGL1FC-00
BIOS Message : 6VA693A(S)-EA
BOTH releases are downloadable from:
http://web.archive.org/web/200301030442 ... a/6va693a/
Note: considering the release dates, they must support HDDs upto 128GB for sure.
