Please help me identify the m/b in my father's computer. It is a NEC GT300C READY computer and I am having trouble to install a new Cicero 120 mb 7200 rpm hard drive. It is not recognized, Hangs on boot every time....... I've tried everything. So, I'd like to upgrade the BIOS if I can figure out what M/B is in there.
It has a AMD 500mhz CPU.
The actual numbers on a sticker on M/B= #0358 &
Assem# KJ9098857-SD11
The number on the BIOS CHIP = AMIBIOS 1995, EZ7 7609

Top left of screen during boot: PBNC6025
AMERICAN MEGATRENDS RELEASE 09-21-99

Tried utility (can't remember name... BIOS AGENT ? eSupport.com Inc??)
AMERICAN MEGATRENDS
ID#62-0720-000000-00101111-071595-A751V686-1EVT300
(the actual startup string shows an "-F" at end of string)
DATE= 09/21/99
CHIPSET= AMD 751 rev 35
OEM Sign-on: PBNC6025
Superio: VIA 686 rev 20 found at port 7h

I can see in large letters in middle area near AGP slot....... "SD11"
and near bottom left beside last slot (ISA SLOT) ....... rev. 1.7

That utility said it is a NEC m/b or OEM .......... but I'm not having any luck with NEC support.......... they suck for supporting there 4 or 5 yr old desktops??? I can't figure out all their different divisions and sites.... I've been to all of them and keep going around in circles. THEY DON'T SUPPORT THEIR DESKTOPS HOME USE BUYERS!

Anyways, any help identifying this m/b would be appreciated.

THANKS, COSMO99
