Hi!
Here is some "special" problem:
I have a German IPC based on an Intel TX-Chipset. It hangs up if a harddrive bigger than 32 GB is connected, seems like the standard Award-bug. The BIOS information is as follows:
Program: eSupport.com BIOS Detect v1.2 July 21, 2003
BIOS Date: 12/11/01
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 12/11/2001-i430TX-67X-2A59IED1C-00
OEM Sign-On: (2a59ied1) NOAX COPR5 PENTIUM BOARD BIOS REV.2.4
Chipset: Intel Triton 430TX rev 1
Superio: SMC 67x rev 129 found at port 370h
Superio: SMC 67x rev 129 found at port 3F0h
CPU Type: AMD-K6
CPU Speed: 400 Mhz
CPU Max: 266 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 256K
Memory Installed: 256 MB
Memory Maximum: 192 MB
Umfortunately their hotline told me that there is no BIOS Update available to fix the 32 GB limit. Also they do NOT provide downloads of their BIOS.
So, if someone has interest to patch that BIOS, where should I mail the 256 kb bios.bin file I made with award flash utility?
There should be also a packed Video BIOS (the IPC supports LCD-displays!!) inside the BIOS as the company support told me. I hope that makes patching not more difficult!!
I hope someone can help!
Thanks in advance
