80gig: 02/02/99-i440LX-<P2L97>-00

I recently bought a 80 gig wd hd. I cannot get my motherboard to detect the HD. Tried setting it as master and slave,it will not detect the HD at all. It detects my 10 gig just fine. Tried the 80gig on my friend's mb,it detects it without any problem. I am hoping that upgrading the bios will fix this problem. I have never done this,so if anyone has any tips,I would appreciate it...
