80GB: Tekram TRM-P6b-A4x-v1.10 10/11/2000

Please help me, I've got MB Tekram P6B-A4X and hard drive WD 80GB UltraATA/100.
I've read in this forum as well as on other pages that I have to download the newer BIOS to make this disk working.
Now I've flashed succesfuly my BIOS. New version in v1.10 10/11/2000 from wimsbios pages. After flashing itt's detecting my disk on the first screen after rebooting, it shows the name of the disk correctly but the system freezes at the configuration table on the line with that disk.
When I try to autodetect the disk in BIOS setup it also freezes.
Thanks for help, I've got on that disk data to write my thesis.

This seems curious as it has been tested with 100GB HDD already.
I will email you a file with the message changed just to confirm that the flash is successful.

Did the disk detect correctly on this MB before the BIOS upgrade? If not, perhaps this board/BIOS does not like the current jumper/cable configuration of the drive, although it is interesting that a drive may be locking the BIOS.
To see if it is the drive locking the BIOS, I would temporarily disconnect power and data to that drive (perhaps all drives) to see if it makes a difference. Then if that works start resolving from there.
Or maybe you need to clear the CMOS.
If you cannot resolve, then since your data is important, I would consider using this drive on a machine/BIOS where it does detect so that you can work on your thesis until you can resolve the issue later.

Note that the bp patcher shows that the BIOS has the problem where it does not recognise that the chipset can only support ATA/API-33. As you have an ATA/ATAPI-100 drive, to use the original patched BIOS from Wim's you would have to use the manufacturer's utility to set the drive's maximum UDMA mode to Mode 2 (ATA/API-33).

You can use an ordinary 40-conductor cable.
