I recently bought a 80 gig samsung hd. I cannot get my motherboard to detect the HD.I am hoping that upgrading the bios will fix this problem. (I made BI98117E update from www.zida.com but still not work:( )

Ouch. It's an AMI BIOS. Can't be patched.

Anyway, the other day I had big problems with a Samsung 80GB HDD (I believe they only make one model this size) on a board with a 2003 BIOS.

Problem was the jumper definitions sticker on the Samsung isn't quite clear. You'll need 2 jumpers to get it to its full capacity (Master mode).

I'd go to Samsung's site if I were you. It made things clearer, and I got the drive to work ok.

AMI was quite a pioneer in large HDD support (>64GB), way before AWARD was. It's highly probable you'll get that HDD working on that board with that BIOS. You might have to manually insert the HDD parameters, though.

dm_creator ? Sounds like a program for producing our old friend Disk Manager - is that OK with NT-based OSes?
