40GB: Micro-Star MS-5158

Hi.
I have an old Intel Pentium166 (mobo Micro-Star MS-5158) with 128MB RAM. I bought a 40GB Samsung hard drive, and updated Award bios from 1.0 to 1.4 and had to jumper the HD to 32GB limit. If I don't do that, my computer freezes when trying to initialize the drive when booting.
Is there a bios, that I could use to use the full size of that HD?
Thanks
Juukeli
