80GB: 11/30/1999440BX-<<P2B>>-00

This is the problem, my 80GB Hitachi Deskstar Hd is not being recognised unless I put the 32Gb clip on, then the pc hangs on the config page while trying to read the size?
Specs:

Looks like it's an Asus P2B motherboard... Asus BIOS is a non-standard layout, so apple_rom's "bp" patcher is the best option. Find a patched version at the "untested" link in my signature in a few minutes....

..OK, more than a few. I apologise. Sometimes work gets in the way.
Look for (Asus P2B bp).zip
Note that you will need to flash "with bootblock" according to the bp patcher.

I'm thinking about an OEM Asus P2B for Maxdata.
There are a BIOS upgrade for it:
VMP 1013-5 * ASUS P2B
11/30/1999440BX-<<P2B>>-00

Is it posible to use the latest Beta from Asus?

This should have support for 128 GB HDD an the latest Tulatin processors.

The Asus Beta BIOS 1014_3.zip for the P2B with hardware monitoring (at the link Janpopan posted) has support for large HDDs.
BIOS ID string: 08/01/2002-i440BX-<<P2B>>
BIOS OEM string: ASUS P2B ACPI BIOS Revision 1014 Beta 003
The patched version of 1012 that I posted will be removed.

Hi everybody who helped on this topic;)
I have now downloaded the zip files from your suggested sites and will try to replace the bios tomorrow morning. That's if I do not have a headache from the birthday celebrations tonight!

Hey people guess what???
Yup got a problem, not sure if the flash util is incorrect but everytime I got to put one of the updates in it goes to an error:
ERROR --- incorrect file press exit to return to main menu.
I'm using the ASUS AFlash 2.21 Util from their website??????
Suggestions please!

As I said before, your motherboard is an OEM Asus P2B for Maxdata:
